I'm not afraid to think differently!

I look at the world, products and objects around me very visually, but also functionally. My friends sometimes laugh that "I suffer for design" and it is indeed a bit like that, because I believe that a well-designed world means a more beautiful and easier life. Too many IT products are overly complex and too complicated for the average person, making the most important functionalities almost unnoticeable. I agree 100% with the statement that the form is a result of function and that is what I follow in my projects.

You have to look at the product broadly (functionally, technically, from the perspective of the form, needs and expectations of the user). In my opinion, the recipients' perspective is the key, I put it first.

I entered a new stage in my life: incredibly interesting, full of challenges, surprises, and emotions! For 9 months I was "printing a young man". Now he is with me, and I felt that I had to find a way to pass on to him what life, travel and work had taught me. Together with my twin sister, Gosia Pałys-Dudek, we decided to write a book!

In Globe Kids, together with my sister, I created illustrations, posts for social media and animations.

I am responsible for email marketing from the graphic and programming side. I started working with Homebook when newsletters practically did not exist there. They were unresponsive, looked like a static site. I created a visual page for mailings and newsletters. I was responsible for creating gifs, preparing photos, content layout, programming and testing of e-mails. In a small team, we tested and improved the entire mailing performance on an ongoing basis.

At Extradom, I was responsible for creating transactional emails - the entire process, both visuals and development.

At TotalMoney I was responsible for newsletters - layout and development.

Focusson is almost like my child. I took part in every step of its creation - from the initial idea and consultation with potential clients to the actual product UX, design and construction. Recently I had a chance to rebuild its marketing website. I used a free WordPress theme as a base and heavily adapted it to suite our needs better. The new site was a complete success.

The beginnings of my professional career were related to graphics. I graduated from high school with elements of graphics and computer printing. Graphics absorbed me so much that I decided to study Corporate Identity, which allowed me to look at the brand and the user widely.

Later, however, I became involved in marketing research, but I always prepared reports and presentations using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Newsletters formed interesting period of my career, which began almost accidentally during my time at Lenstore. They combine three of my work passions – programming, design and research. The first one is obvious. Design is a challenge in newsletters – short form, very functional. All parts of the page have an important purpose and needs to be carefully though out. Even white space. Finally, research. Finding the balance between form and content. Newsletter resembles an expensive suite – cut to size, showcasing the label and fitting into the style of the brand. I love such challenges.

WAREFRAME

I had a chance to create prototypes and wireframes for small and large platforms, either by myself or as part of a bigger team.

When it comes to creating websites, in my opinion, it is not only about information architecture, but also about getting into the recipient's shoes on each page and understanding what will they be looking for and what their expectations are.

PORTFOLIO - UI

I have the same attitude and passion for a small website, as for a big one. When working on a project, I always start from trying to understand the recipients and the target audience.

Building a blog is always a huge UX challenge. We all read blogs, we have our habits, expectations - the art is to achieve a balance between what is known and used, and what is interesting and innovative. That's why I love it so much. For me, Focusson’s blog represents that balance and presents the content in an intuitive, easy to grasp way.

It required rethinking and organizing the information structure. Additionally, it should seem light, inviting and clear - the message should be clear and quickly recognizable.

Critical on the website is saddle motion. Balance of colours and hover make that form look shorter, friendly and easy to do it!

In this project everything was a composition. The pictures and visual side is the most important. This website is presenting flat for rent - so the way how is showing the place and location should be in the centre point. This apartment is in the centre of one of the most beautiful towns in Poland, so I also needed to highlight short distance to every cultural place.

Animals Gang is a wordpress theme fully built from scratch by me. The theme utilizes a novel mechanic of navigation using multiple levels of maps and pins. Selecting a pin on one level brings up another map with more pins to choose from.

This theme can easily be used by shops, restaurants or hotels in any location.

I also built a blog. Animals Gang also features a blog section with cards animated in CSS acting as buttons. All posts feature a small animated chart rating usefulness and other aspects of the products described in the post. The blog (and the site itself) are bilingual and all drawings are hand drawn by me!

HTML NEWSLETTERS | HTML EMAIL TEMPLATE

Newsletters are the shortest path to communicate with your clients. The easiest way to inform them about changes, upcoming events or new products. That's why I've always taken them seriously and spent decent time to prepare them beautifully.

Part of my role at Lenstore was to prepare their newsletters, and that’s how my love for them began. Newsletters are extremely difficult to build due to the variety of different email clients and complexity of modern designs. Seeing the engagement increase since I took on this role made me feel very satisfied and accomplished.

Having almost a year experience in Lenstore I've learned a lot. Working with an amazing team I could observe the inner workings of a business at almost on every stage. I was working on the desktop and mobile version of our shop. This job gave me incredible power and satisfaction. My efforts, enthusiasm and commitment brightened the hearts of all around me. They even gave me a trophy for it! This little trophy reminds me of this time and gives energy every day.

This was my first serious project in React JS. I was asked to build a management interface inside an already existing platform. I was given creative freedom within a predefined design guideline, so my UX experience came in very handy. It was a big challenge at first but seeing the insides and processes involved on an enterprise grade product was a huge learning experience for me.
